MercadoLibre Store — Inherited Family Business Rebuilt with a Partner using AI
My partner and I took over a loss-making family MercadoLibre store and rebuilt it from the ground up. Applying the product, growth and UX skills from my tech career — and orchestrating AI across every process, from listings to analytics — we grew average monthly GMV by 170%, doubled conversion and earned official 'Tienda Oficial' status, ranking as top seller across multiple categories.
Key Achievements
- Rebuilt an inherited family business with my partner, owning the data side: pricing, ad spend, listings and analytics.
- Grew average monthly GMV by 170% (+443% YoY on a like-for-like 30-day window) and held the new floor for 10 months — 11,497 sales and 13,687 units.
- Doubled average conversion from 2.0% to 4.3% (2.1× MercadoLibre's ~2% benchmark), peaking at 10.2% during Hot Sale, through AI-rewritten listings, titles and attributes and regenerated visual content.
- Built a 9,186-customer base from scratch: monthly new buyers up 509% (146 → 889) on +99% traffic — capturing more demand per visit, not just more visits.
- Turned on and scaled Product Ads (3× spend) with a ROAS of 8.8× (target 8×) and 11.3% ACOS; diagnosed that 38.7% of lost impressions were due to ranking, not budget, and redirected effort to listing optimisation.
- Earned Mercado Líder Platinum and official 'Tienda Oficial' status, registered the LiteShop trademark, and ranked #1–#3 best seller in three categories.
- Built an AI-driven content and analytics workflow (Freepik/Magnific for imagery and video, Gemini for copy, Claude for sales analysis) — producing the full catalogue's content with a two-person team.

Eloris — Product for Professors & Researchers
Built and maintained the core onboarding experience for professors and researchers at a Y Combinator startup, on a five-day cycle from brief to shipped feature. I joined a PHP/Laravel + Neo4j codebase with no prior experience in the stack and was delivering production features from week one.
Key Achievements
- Implemented onboarding flow and subscription gating integrated with Stripe.
- Designed key screens and design patterns using Magic Patterns, prioritising product clarity and user experience.
- Wrote UX copy and interface texts for onboarding screens, ensuring clear and conversion-focused wording.
- Developed frontend features in Vue.js (Vue 2) with Bulma/Buefy component library.
- Worked with Laravel queues (Batch/Bus) for parallel job processing, with Horizon and Telescope for monitoring and debugging.
- Shipped through a dev/staging/production pipeline on GitLab CI/CD with conventional commits.

FirstIgnite Main Project - Tech Transfer Agent Platform
Worked on the AI agent platform that orchestrates intelligent sub-agents to automate research, outreach and knowledge-transfer workflows for universities.
Key Achievements
- Designed the AI agent campaign interface — a natural-language input replacing a multi-step form — which the company used as the lead visual in its public launch announcement at an international conference. The prototype was used by the team to define the architecture of the agentic interface.
- Redesigned the grant discovery module to scale from 161 to 4,900+ opportunities: restructured filtering into a faceted sidebar with hierarchical location grouping, and added grid and timeline views.
- Built the admin configuration for per-user daily email limits, PDF report exports, and improvements to the market-report engine's result diversity.
- Improved user experience and visual consistency across the platform, owning features end to end — spec, UI, backend and release.

- Audited the OpenTok/Vonage SDK's known issue catalogue and mapped each bug to how it actually fails for the user — "no one can hear me", "the video is black", "I keep getting disconnected".
- Drove the client library upgrade from 2.27.1 to 2.28.4 to resolve confirmed defects.
- Proposed device, browser and version tracking to identify which environments were failing and how often.
- Proposed blocking unsupported devices before the call starts, and a best-practices campaign for users, to prevent avoidable failures.
